A little life by Hanya Yanagihara (2015). This is a 800+ pages book and I have to admit that I skipped some pages, partially because frankly it’s overwritten and also because it is quite boring at some parts. But It is actually a good story. There are several characters in the book, and it seems to me that all of them have a kinda overlapped sexual identity. The main character is Jude and this guy has one of the saddest lives I’ve ever read about. He was an orphan and was forced into prostitution as a child.
In his adult life Jude becomes a successful lawyer, but his personal life is far from being a good one. In addition to his addiction to drugs, for years he has to endure the physical pain in his legs caused by an accident. Eventually his legs are amputated and at the end he commits suicide. This is not a fun book.
